An active holiday in Deštné
In summer, Deštné v Orlických horách offers plenty to do: a rope park with courses for children (from 90 cm in height) and adults, guided off-road quad bike trips, adrenaline mountain scooters and trikes, Nordic off-road roller skates, climbing on an artificial wall and horse riding at the local riding centre.
Hiking
A cable car takes you up to Studený vrch. The area has a number of nature trails and destinations: the Masaryk mountain hut on the ridge, the church of St Matthew, the border fortifications, the Villa Nova open-air museum or the church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Neratov with its glass roof. For family trips we recommend the Bukačka nature reserve, Kačenčina zahrádka, the Zemská brána gorge or the view from Velká Deštná (1,115 m above sea level).
Cycling
Well-marked cycling routes for every level of fitness, the panoramic Jiráskova cesta ridge route and summer cycling buses across the whole range. Trip ideas: Velká Deštná, the Hanička fortress — the largest underground fortification from the Second World War — or the church in Neratov. Deštné has a bike rental and a repair shop.

- Brno → Svitavy → Rychnov nad Kněžnou → Solnice → Deštné v Orlických horách
- Olomouc → Mohelnice → Svitavy → Rychnov nad Kněžnou → Solnice → Deštné v Orlických horách
In winter we do not recommend the minor road over the mountains from Rychnov nad Kněžnou — it is often hard to drive. The ridge road from Orlické Záhoří to Deštné is maintained.
