Downhill skiing

The Deštné v Orlických horách ski resort lies on the slopes of Zimní kopec (883 m above sea level) — the bottom station of one of the lifts is 30 m from the apartment. There are roughly 5 km of slopes of varying difficulty with snowmaking, night skiing, a chairlift, a snowpark, a children's slope and a ski school for children and adults with its own enclosed area. Nearby you will also find the Říčky v Orlických horách resort and Zieleniec in Poland.

Cross-country skiing

Depending on conditions, up to 50 km of cross-country trails are groomed around Deštné, Sedloňov and Olešnice, including the attractive ridge trail connected to the tracks near Říčky. Competitive skiers will appreciate the homologated race circuits between Deštné and Ošerov.

Practical information

There is no pharmacy in Deštné — over-the-counter medicines are sold at the kiosk next to the municipal office. Groceries are available Monday to Saturday morning; at the weekend the local petrol station (daily 6 a.m.–6 p.m.) and the restaurant are open. In winter we recommend arriving on the main road from Dobruška.
